Yesterday (9th April) I was working with Katrina Middleton, doing the live sound and projection for her 3rd year dissertation performance entitled "Milk and two Sugars" at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton. The performance was a physical theatre piece and this is what the programme read:
"What is it like to be faced every day with the inability to eat, the impossibility of being able to face food? How does it feel to be afraid to accept help that is on offer? How does anyone cope with the dilemma of knowing that both body and mind are being damaged, but not being able to, literally, face up to it?
Anorexia, a now all too common eating disorder that is familiar to everyone: but is it? We all too often associate anorexia with the female body image, but men suffer too.
This semi-autobiographical piece of physical theatre explores fears, problems and the coming to terms with a condition that only permits the intake of... tea: with milk and two sugars."
The night was a good experience and the performance was very moving! I would be pleased to work with Katrina again!
