Therefore, this week I and two fellow students travelled around MediaCityUk and the MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) recording interesting sounds to be later manipulated to become apart of the sound effects for the short film.
The field recorder we are using in the picture is a Zoom H4n and I would recommend it for use as a versatile portable recorder with an ability to get a clear 24bit/96kHz recording in even extremely windy conditions (with the help of a deadcat). Here's a helpful video which explains and shows you how to make a 'deadcat' yourself to help you in windy conditions:
I thought I would share the following images of our recording with you, including a picture of diced chicken fillets in sauce to make some very interesting squishing sounds!
